THE MEXICAN OPAL

WHAT IS AN OPAL?

Its origin comes from the Sanskrit name "úpala" , which literally means "precious stone".

It is a non-metallic inorganic mineral composed of amorphous silica in a gel state, with the distinction that in its molecular structure it presents a variable amount of water molecules, which gives it its characteristic shine and color changes, it is considered a precious gem.

Mexico is one of the few countries where these gems are found and Mexican Opals are considered the most beautiful in the world.

It is the only gem that brings together all the colors of precious stones, however, each opal registers unique color combinations and it is practically impossible to find two that are identical.

EXCEPTIONAL JEWELS

The Opals are embedded in stone from the mother quarry, the extraction technique is almost artisanal as a bar and hammer is used against the large rock fragments once the mine has been exploited.

Subsequently, the raw stones with the best characteristics are selected and the Opal is extracted from the mother quarry to be subjected to really careful manual polishing, carving and calibration processes, thus obtaining polished and shiny gems, without radically altering their shape. natural.

It is very difficult to obtain two identical pieces once the process is finished. Since each opal has different shapes, positions and qualities. We design each jewel separately, specifically for each selected Opal, considering its characteristics to enhance its natural beauty.
